Kerri-Ann Kraetzer – Oct. 26

Kerri-Ann  Kraetzer, 60, a resident of White Plains died on October 26th at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla from injuries suffered while running  and hit by a passenger car on Oct 18th near her home.  She donated organs thru the LiveonNY.org that are expected to benefit three or more individuals.

Mrs. Kraetzer of Brown and Brown Insurance in White Plains was a Certified Property Casualty Underwriter receiving designation from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters in 1999.  Previously she served at York International, Arthur J. Gallagher, Marsh & McLennan, Frenkel & Company, Chase, GE Capital and Kidder Peabody.

On September 11th 2001 at 8 AM Kerri was in her office at Frenkel and Company on the 35th floor of 2WTC. Sensing the crisis at 1WTC she checked her office that all others had left then walked down staircases to lobby assisted by members of NYPD, FDNY and others.  She ran under shelter across Liberty Street when second plane hit over head, she was then able to take a subway to Grand Central Station to return to Westchester.

A graduate of Providence College in Rhode Island she ran on the relay teams at St. Francis Prep in Flushing, Queens.  A life long runner Kerri completed five marathons including three NYC Marathons and enjoyed marching in the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Devoted to her family, Kerri is survived by Kenneth G. Kraetzer her husband of 31 years of White Plains, his sisters Mary C Kraetzer and Ann V. Kraetzer husband Gale Whiteneck; her father Joseph Connolly a retired FDNY fire fighter, a brother Joseph Connolly Jr, and his wife Maureen, a niece Katie Kane her husband Will, a niece Maggie Wagner her husband Mark, and a nephew Joey Connolly and his wife Colleen.  She was a loving aunt to great nephews – nieces Jackson, Finley, Clara, Owen and Ollie.  Her mother Mary Connolly died in 2022 and a brother Brian Connolly died in 2016.

A wake will be held on Tuesday October 31st from 4 – 8 PM at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor, NY. Internment will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.

Kerri’s family extends appreciation for extraordinary service provided by the White Plains Police, the amazing doctors and nurses at Westchester Medical Center, LiveonNY.org and the many friends who sent messages of encouragement.
