Former Pelham deputy mayor supports Clive Anderson for town board because of his commitment to serve

To the editor:

As a 10-year member of the Town of Pelham Recreation Commission and nine years as a Village of Pelham trustee, serving my last year as deputy mayor, it has been my pleasure to serve the community.

Throughout that journey, it is an honor to meet and work with the next generation of people who wish to volunteer and serve our constituency.

Clive Anderson running for town councilman in my view qualifies as one of our residents who will dedicate himself to work selflessly for all residents of our town, and I am pleased to endorse him.

I’ve come to know Clive through his volunteer efforts with the Pelham Civics and the Danny Fund and his commitment to both organizations.

Clive is a registered Democrat who when asked by the Town of Pelham Republican Party to run for town councilman the accepted the challenge.

In my past elections, I ran three times cross endorsed, one year appointed by a Republican mayor and my final term as a Democrat.

In local politics, in my opinion, it is more important what your commitment is to serving the entire public than to national party affiliation. To that end, I relate to Clive’s nomination and willingness to run for office.

I wholeheartedly endorse Clive Anderson for town councilman and encourage all residents to vote for him on Nov. 7.
