Pelham Memorial High School students Lauren Ulto (teacher Elizabeth Caparotta) and Charles Pilla (teacher Christina Prignano) were awarded scholarships for their outstanding performance in their study of Italian on October 25, 2023 at the Westchester County Executive Proclamation Ceremony held at Eastchester High school. The theme for this year’s celebration was: “The Joys of Learning Italian.”
The ceremony occurs each October and is sponsored by the Westchester Coalition of Italian American Organizations in collaboration with the Società Onoraria Italica. The ceremony also proclaims October as Italian Heritage and Culture Month in Westchester County. During Italian Heritage and Culture Month, we recognize the rich heritage of Americans of Italian descent and celebrate their immeasurable contributions to our Nation.
Congratulations to our students, families and teachers!
