Councilwoman McLoughlin endorses Burke and Curtin for town board and Kagan for town justice

To the editor:

Four years ago, voters across our town elected Kristen Burke and Maura Curtin to the town council and Adam Kagan as town justice. During their first terms in office, they have worked individually and collectively with the entire team of elected officials responsible for making our town an amazing place to live and raise our families. As I reflect on all of their accomplishments, I wanted to share several reasons why they should be reelected on Election Day, Nov. 7.

Burke made concrete improvements to how our town offices govern and operate, including updating the employee handbook and instituting an employee code of conduct and sexual harassment training. She has also established benchmarks for town facilities to create more energy efficiency.

Curtin leveraged her strong relationships with county and state officials and knowledge of state funding to local municipalities to secure three large grants for the town to renovate Daronco Town House and to purchase a new ambulance for the town.

Working with their fellow members of the town council, Curtin and Burke are ensuring that the Town of Pelham will have more robust emergency services, with better response rates in 2024.

Kagan, the court staff and his fellow judge have expanded translation services, court hours, security measures, attorney availability, access to court forms and long overdue digital innovation that has professionalized the court’s operations.

Burke, Curtin and Kagan embody the values, commitment and expertise to do their jobs representing you, the people of Pelham, effectively, efficiently and ethically. They each bring their unique strengths to their roles and have brought tremendous improvements to their respective areas of local government. They are independent Democrats who believe in democracy and serving all the people of Pelham. I am proud to serve and work with them.

Please join me in reelecting Kristen Burke, Maura Curtin and Adam Kagan on Nov. 7

Thank you for sharing your endorsement Kara. It’s important to note the bipartisan cooperation of our Town Council and how working together you were able to leverage your individual strengths to bring this much needed ambulance to fruition. Maura Curtin and Kristen Burke have earned a second term to continue this great work.
