PMHS seniors Vivian Guo and Isaac Lief named Rotary Scholars of the Month

Rotary Club of the Pelhams honored Vivian Guo and Isaac Lief, two PMHS National Merit Commended students, as Marilyn Stiefvater Scholars of the Month at its Nov. 1 luncheon meeting.

Vivian Guo is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Science, Social Studies, English and Math honor societies. Her Science Research study has been related to Type 2 diabetes and has included lab research at Weil Cornell Graduate School of Medical Services for the last two summers. She is an AP Scholar of Distinction and a National French Exam Medalist. She plays the piano and violin. Her extracurricular activities include serving as an officer in the Midnight Run Club, Students for Refugees Club and DIV Club. She is a member of the Varsity Girls Swimming and Diving team.

Isaac Lief is president of the PMHS chapter of the National Honor Society. He is an AP Scholar of Distinction and member of the Math, Science, Social Studies, English and Spanish honor societies. His Science Research  work has been in robotics, working on mapping algorithms for autonomous vehicles. He was an award winner at the 2023 Westchester Science and Engineering Fair. His extracurricular activities include Fencing (he is ranked 22nd in the country), Forensic Speech and Debate Club.

In addition to honoring PMHS students as Scholars of the Month during the school year, Rotary Club of the Pelhams awards a $15,000 scholarship to a graduating PMHS student in June.
