Picture House receives Community Fund grant to support senior cinema program in Bronxville

November 2023 – Bronxville and Pelham, NYThe Picture House Regional Film Center has received a grant from The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe (The Community Fund). This grant has been designated to support The Picture House’s popular Senior Cinema program in Bronxville which offers moviegoers 65 and older free films on Tuesday afternoon from September through June.

“We are thrilled to announce our inaugural partnership with The Community Fund in support of Senior Cinema Bronxville,” said Clayton Bushong, Executive Director of The Picture House. “This vital program enhances the quality of life for seniors in our community, offering a valuable blend of cultural and social experiences. With more than 100 seniors each week, collaboration with community organizations ensures the sustainability and continued enrichment of Senior Cinema.”

“The Community Fund has a long history of supporting programs for seniors in the Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe communities, and these types of initiatives are a core part of our mission to provide social, health and well-being programs that dramatically improve people’s lives,” said Amy Rutter Korb, Executive Director, The Community Fund. “We are very pleased to partner with The Picture House Regional Film Center because we know this program will provide rich cultural and social experiences for the seniors in our community.”

Senior Cinema 2023-34:

Moviegoers 65 and older enjoy a great afternoon of film and friends at The Picture House theaters in Bronxville and Pelham on Tuesday afternoons at 2:30pm starting September 19th, 2023 and running to June, 2024. In addition to the grant from The Community Fund, the program is supported by grants from NY  State Assembly member Amy Paulin and Con Edison. As a reminder, The Picture House Regional Film Center offers half-priced tickets on Tuesdays for all other movie goers.
