The Board of Education will hold separate meetings related to the budget and Strategic Planning on Wednesday, April 17 and Friday, April 19 respectively. Details about each meeting are as follows.

Budget Adoption Meeting

On Wednesday, April 17, the Board will meet at 6:30pm in Room 280 in Pelham Middle School, 28 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803. It is anticipated that the Board will immediately consider a motion to enter executive session to discuss the employment history of a particular person(s). The Board is expected to reconvene in public in the Pelham Middle School Library at approximately 7:30pm for a regular business meeting. The meeting can be viewed on YouTube live.

Members of the public may attend the meeting in-person.

At the meeting, the Board is expected to consider adoption of the 2024-25 preliminary budget. Additionally, the Board will honor Siwanoy School Principal Farid Johnson, who was named NYS Elementary Principal of the Year.

The Board may also review and/or adopt the following policies: 1640 – Absentee Ballots, 5661 – Wellness, 7619 – Use of Timeout Rooms, and 7521R – Opioid Overdose Prevention.

Strategic Planning Work Session

The Board will be joined by a working group of administrators, teachers and students for a work session on the District’s next Strategic Plan beginning at 12pm on Friday, April 19 in the Pelham Middle School Library, 28 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803.

At this meeting, which is open to the public, the working group will review the results of the Strategic Planning survey, focus groups and data review conducted by Hazard, Young, Attea Associates.

Please note that no action will be taken at this meeting. Additional Strategic Planning Work Sessions are scheduled for April 25 and May 28.
