A burning car that also set alight utility lines following an accident shutdown the intersection of Pelhamdale Avenue and Shore Road on Tuesday morning.
According to an email sent by the Village of Pelham Manor at 10:20 a.m., “Community members are advised there has been a serious motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Pelhamdale Avenue and Shore Road. First responders are on the scene, and it is anticipated they will continue to be on the scene for the next several hours. Investigations are currently underway.”
The village said the area should be avoided, and police are directing traffic at the approaches to the intersection. Shore Park and the New York Athletic Club can be reached via Roosevelt Avenue.
