Kate Douglass’ strong performances continued at the 2024 Short Course National Championship in Budapest, Hungary, as she beat her own 200-meter short course world record on Friday.
With a time of 2:12.50, Douglass bests her previous 200 meter time of 2:14.16, set at the World Aquatics Swimming Cup in October, according to SwimSwam.
This record follows two other world records that Douglass set at the 2024 Short Course National Championship in the 200-meter individual medley and the 4×100-meter freestyle relay.
Douglass’ times have only improved since the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she won gold medals in the women’s 200m breaststroke and the women’s 4×100 medley relay and silver medals in the women’s 200m IM and the women’s 4×100 freestyle relay.
After Douglass finishes racing in Budapest, she will head to trials for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships this summer.
