A new season of spring sports is underway at Pelham Memorial High School, with the first few weeks of games played before spring break and some teams in action during the holiday. Here’s a look at how the PMHS teams are doing.
Boys Lacrosse

The boys lacrosse team is off to a strong 5-0 start with the following wins:
- 19-6 versus Nyack
- 8-3 versus John Jay, the first-ever program victory against Jay
- 13-8 versus Mahopac
- 7-2 versus Hendrick Hudson
- 7-6 against Scarsdale on Friday (double overtime)
The boys went 8-7 last year and were defeated 9-8 in a quarterfinal sectional matchup against Tappan Zee.
Through their first four games, Will Dunhill leads the team in goals with 14, followed by Joe Martucci (13), Timothy Gallivan (7), Graham Bardoff (5), Ryan Zabatta (6), James Fradkin (3), Will Alexander (3), Jared Slawsky (1), Sam Roberts (1) and Drew Beier (1). Goaltender Reeve Murrell has recorded 46 total saves with a .648 save percentage. With a long regular season ahead of them running until May 15, the team will look to make a return to the Section One Class C Playoffs, seeking a chance to win the Section One Division C Lacrosse Championship for the first time since 2022. Their next game will be played against Scarsdale on Thursday at Carmel High School.
Girls Lacrosse

The PMHS girls lacrosse team, which went 8-7 in 2024 and suffered a 14-8 quarterfinal loss to John Jay, is 3-2 this season.
The three wins include:
- 19-13 against Pearl River
- 16-2 over Hastings
- 18-14 over Hendrick Hudson
The Pelicans lost to Rye 17-7 and Yorktown 20-13.
In the victory over Hastings—during which the team played in honor of ALS awareness and the Anthony Senerchia Jr. ALS Foundation—Pelham put in a strong offensive performance, fueled by 11 different players scoring at least one goal, including Taylor Green (2), Arden Keough (3) and Colleen Sheehy (2). During the win over Hen Hud, Taylor Green scored seven goals, breaking the PMHS girls lacrosse career scoring record with a total of 195, after she had previously set the all-time points and assists records in 2024. In addition to Green’s seven-goal performance, Keough recorded five goals in the win, Brooke Green scored three, and Ava Orlando, Parker Koupal and Alex Dolen one each. With two straight wins, the team will look to continue their positive start to the season Monday in a home game against Tappan Zee.
Rugby
The PMHS varsity rugby team is coming off a 2024 season where they lost in the New York State Championship Final to Xavier High School, another perennial powerhouse. In the the 2025 opener, the team beat the Fairfield Rugby Club by a margin of 31, with the final score 45-14. In their next three games, Pelham fell to Trumbull High School on March 13, beat Ridgefield High School on March 28 and lost to Fordham Prep 36-26 on Friday. Their next match will be played against Delbarton School April 25 at Glover Field.

- 6-4 win versus Mount Vernon
- 6-5 extra innings loss against New Rochelle
- 12-3 win over Edgemont

I apologize for the typo in the boys lacrosse paragraph; they will be playing Carmel High School on Thursday, not Scarsdale.
