Burglary of an occupied house happened Thursday along Jackson Avenue.

Rick J. Scocozza, 55, of the Bronx was arrested by Pelham Manor police officers Thursday night in the act of allegedly burglarizing an occupied house on Jackson Avenue, according to Detective Sergeant Greg Sancho of the Manor police.

“Officers arrived at the scene within 80 seconds of receiving a call reporting a robbery in progress,” said a post on the Village of Pelham Manor Facebook page. “The officers acted swiftly to apprehend the suspect and end the incident. The suspect has been remanded to Westchester County Jail.”

“Timely notification and a fast response combined” to enable the Pelham Manor Police Department to apprehend the suspect in the act, the post said.

Pelham Manor said further details would not be provided at this time “due to ongoing investigation concerns and out of respect for the victims.”
