Carole L. O’ Dowd of Pelham, New York, passed away on Monday, March 4th, 2019. She was 79 years old.

Born in the Bronx NY to Joseph Cerce and Jesse Miele, Carole was the eldest of two. She was raised in Pelham with her brother Joseph. She attended local schools and graduated from Pelham Memorial High School in the class of 58.

Carole would meet her future husband, William (Bill), in Pelham. They met while Bill would come from the Bronx to visit his cousins at their “country” home in Pelham. They married in 1959 at the Church of St Catharine and were blessed with three children; Christine, William & Susan.

Carole will be remembered as a loving Mother, Grandmother and a good friend.. She leaves behind her children Christine (Patsy Moretti), William (Linda DiSisto), Susan (Frank Babuska)., her 6 grandchildren and her brother-in-law Fr. Aurelian (Ed) O’Dowd.

A celebration of Carole’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY, on Thursday, March 8th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catharines Church, located 25 Second Avenue, Pelham NY. on Friday, March 9th at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Carole’s Memory, to the Danny Fund.
