Village of Pelham to begin search for new garbage company on Monday following incumbent’s loss of license
The Village of Pelham will Monday begin the search for a new trash company and has until Dec. 6 to replace incumbent Waste Services Inc., according to an email from Pelham Mayor Chance Mullen.
Pelham “has been directed to seek a new garbage-service provider who can assume responsibility for garbage and recycling services by Dec. 6,” Mullen said. On Monday, “we will request proposals from other providers, and the village board will work diligently to award a new contract to the lowest responsible bidder in time to ensure there is no disruption.”
Waste Services, which lost its operating license from the Westchester Solid Waste Commission in August, will provide scheduled collections during the the search.
Until now, Waste Services has picked up in Pelham under a rolling series of extensions granted by the solid waste commision. The last one expired Friday.
