Catherine Taubner and Henry Gutch named Rotary Scholars for February

PMHS seniors Catherine Taubner and Henry Gutch were recognized as Marilyn Stiefvater Scholars of the Month by the Rotary Club of the Pelhams.

Catherine Taubner is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Science, Math, English and Social Studies honor societies. She was a summer research intern at NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medicine Dalio Institute of Cardiovascular Imaging and was a finalist in June of last year in the GENiUS Olympiad. She also an AP Scholar with Distinction and participated in the Regeneron Westchester Science & Engineering Fair. Her athletic interests are golf and tennis. She has participated in the PMHS Band as a percussionist and has been a member of several school clubs including Latin Club, Biology Club, Military History Club, Stock Market Club and Students for Refugees Club.

Henry Gutch, an Eagle Scout candidate, is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the World Language, Math, English and Science honor societies. His extracurricular activities have included Statistics in Sports Club and Art Club. His sports activities have included swimming and tennis.

In addition to recognizing two PMHS students as Scholars of the Month during the school year, Rotary Club of the Pelhams awards a $10,000 scholarship to a graduating PMHS senior annually. Funds for the scholarship are collected from donations by community members and Rotarians.
