Manor Club building closed through end of April; all activities cancelled

Editor’s note: This press release was provided by the Manor Club.

The Manor Club Board of Directors announced that The Manor Club Building will be closed through the end of April and all activities have been cancelled.

The cancellations include Tuesday luncheons and programs and evening programs that included a talk on the future of journalism by Nicholas Lemann, Columbia University professor of Journalism, and a talk on coronavirus. Also cancelled are classes and bridge, literature and mah-jong groups.

A statement from The Manor Club Board sent to TMC members said: “As a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and health of our members and visitors from the coronavirus, The Manor Club Board of Directors has decided to close the TMC building at least through the end of April, and possibly further, if that is deemed necessary. This decision was not taken lightly since we know how much our membership enjoys the time spent at the club; however, our members remain our top priority. As more information becomes available, we will keep you posted as to when the club will reopen. We trust you will understand and we appreciate your patience during this difficult time. Stay well and be safe.”
