Village of Pelham police warned that scam artists are visiting homes around the nation claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to do tests for Covid-19.

“None of these scams have been reported in Pelham, but please know that no one from the CDC or any other agency will show up at your home to test for Covid-19 virus,” Pelham police said in a Nixle alert.

“Sadly, during these difficult times criminals resort to despicable measures to extort cash from a vulnerable population,” the alert said.
