Blocked sewer lines near Chester Park in ‘sufficient condition’ but require video check Monday

Blocked sewer lines that were backing up into homes in the Chester Park area “appear to be in sufficient condition” Friday after cleaning and jetting, Pelham Village Administrator Omar Small said in an email.

“However, the lines have a hesitant flow,” he said. “In order to confirm that there is no major problem and/or collapse, a TV camera truck will be on site on Monday… the temporary bypass pump at the end of Maple Avenue to Chestnut Avenue will be active over the weekend.”

The village has permits from the New York State Department of Transportation to close the Hutchinson River Parkway Monday morning.

“Hopefully, another day of cleaning and jetting the lines will resolve this problem,” he said.
