The Pelham Board of Education will meet via video conference at 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 and is anticipated to immediately enter into executive session to discuss proposed, pending or current litigation. The public session of the meeting is expected to begin at 8:15pm and the meeting can be viewed on YouTube live.

At the public meeting, the Board will hold the state-mandated public hearing on the 2020-21 proposed budget. Additional information about the budget proposal is available on the District website. The Board is also expected to award tenure to the following District employees: Cristina Camacho, Melody Casagrande, Catherine Dembowski, Trisha Nugent Fitzgerald, Gregory Kopstein, Diana La Scalia, Lauren Pignataro, Sara Pinsker, Nicole Sgobbo, Lauren Strachan, Andrew Van Bochove and Kathryn Walker. Please note that the annual ceremony and reception will be held at a future date once it is safe to do so.

In addition to Dr. Champ’s Superintendent’s report, the agenda may include updates from each School Board committee, Finances and Facilities, and the three goal areas of the Strategic Plan: Cultural Competence, Authentic Learning, and the Whole Child.

Please note that due to public health and safety concerns, the public will not be permitted to attend this meeting in person or at the remote locations where the Board of Education members will be situated.

This video conference meeting is being held in accordance with the notices and health advisories issued by Federal, State and Local officials and pursuant to Executive Order 202.1 of the Governor of the State of New York, dated March 12, 2020. The public may participate in the meeting by submitting written comments to [email protected] before 9:00pm. A video and transcript of the meeting will be made available at a later date. To the extent possible, we ask that comments be concise as they will be read into the record during the live meeting.
