Tonya Wilson, principal of Colonial School since 2010, has accepted a position in the Chappaqua Central School District and will be leaving her job at the end of the summer, Pelham Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Champ said today in an email.

Wilson has worked in the district for 21 years, first as a teacher before becoming principal.

“Throughout her time in Pelham, she has been a fearless advocate for students and an incredible leader who has helped shape the district’s educational program in countless ways,” Champ said.

The district will name an interim principal for Colonial before beginning the search for Wilson’s successor. “We will be sharing additional information both about the immediate plans for the principal position and the upcoming search process as they become available,” Champ said.
