Pelham school board plans to set annual goals, assign committees at Wednesday meeting

The Pelham Board of Education will meet at 7pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 in the Pelham Middle School Gym, 28 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803, and is expected to immediately enter into executive session to discuss the employment history of a particular person(s). The Board is expected to reconvene in public session for a regular meeting at approximately 8:15pm.

Due to public health concerns, physical in-person attendance by members of the public will be prohibited. The meeting can be viewed on YouTube live. Members of the public may participate in the meeting by submitting written comments to [email protected] before 9pm. Please include your name and Pelham mailing address with your comments. To the extent possible, we ask that comments be concise as they will be read into the record during the live meeting.

At the public meeting, the Board is expected to adopt goals for the 2020-21 school year and assign members to serve on a Board and District subcommittees. The Board may also review and/or approve a policy regarding closing schools in the instance of extreme heat. This policy is available for review on BoardDocs as part of the meeting agenda which will be available for viewing 24 hours before the meeting.

In addition to Dr. Champ’s Superintendent’s report, the agenda may include updates from each School Board committee, Finances and Facilities, and the three goal areas of the Strategic Plan: Cultural Competence, Authentic Learning, and the Whole Child.

This meeting is being held in accordance with the notices and health advisories issued by Federal, State and Local officials and pursuant to Executive Order 202.1 of the Governor of the State of New York, dated March 12, 2020.
