A few reminders for residents:

Areas A & B: Every Wednesday of the month (April 14 – October 13 picked up by Oak Ridge Waste)
Organic defined as all grass clippings, flowers, leaves, brush, small branches and twigs must be put in either a biodegradable paper bag or an open 30-35 gallon container. All bags and containers must be placed curbside for pick up on specified days only.

Areas A & B: Monday – Friday (March 15 – April 30 & October 15 – December 15 by Village DPW)
Spring and Fall Leaf Collection: Loose leaves only, other organic yard waste must be bagged. All loose leaves are to be placed curbside between March 15 and April 30 and again between October 15 and December 15. The Village DPW picks up every day and works their way around the Village picking up a section at a time on a revolving basis. *Christmas trees are picked up by the DPW at the curb from December 26 to January 31. Trees must be bare of all ornaments, lights and stands, no garlands, no wreaths. No organic pick up between December 15 and March 15, all items must be held.

Items not Accepted with Organic Yard Waste Pickups: Garbage, logs, tree stumps, pumpkins and large tree branches (larger than 3′ in length).

Gas Powered Leaf Blowers: The Village does not allow gas-powered leaf blowers to be used from May 1 to October 14 and from December 16 to March 14. Violations by a property owner or the property owner’s lawn maintenance provider can result in enforcement action against the property owner including a $250.00 fine, by the Pelham Police Department.
