Westchester International Children’s Film Festival starts Friday at The Picture House

FOURTH ANNUAL WESTCHESTER INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S FILM FESTIVAL
Unique Film Program Takes Place in Pelham Friday, September 7th through Tuesday, September 11th
August 13, 2018 – Pelham, NY – From Friday, September 7th through Tuesday, September 11th The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) will present the fourth annual Westchester International Children’s Film Festival (WICFF) once again bringing the best new films from around the world for ages 3 through 18 to Westchester, the Bronx, and Connecticut. For the fourth year in a row, the WICFF is being sponsored by the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Bronx Zoo.
Highlights of the festival include Latin American Shorts, a Young Adult Spotlight featuring the summer’s popular comedy-drama-music film, Hearts Beat Loud, and the highly-anticipated documentary Pick of the Litter with a pre-recorded discussion with director Dana Nachman.
Additionally, on Saturday, September 8th the WICFF will coincide with Pelham’s first annual Wolfs Walk street festival taking place on Wolfs Lane between The Picture House and Boulevard. Wolfs Walk will feature live music, artisanal food and drink, and a highly curated selection of artists and vendors. That evening at 7:30 p.m. the festival’s Retro Spotlight will feature the classic film Pippi in the South Seas. Free babysitting services will be offered at the screening to Picture House members at the Family level or higher.
“We’re excited to kick-off the back-to-school season with the fourth annual Westchester International Children’s Film Festival,” said Clayton Bushong, Director of Programming at The Picture House. “As always, we’ll feature films from around the world for children of all ages including our perennially popular shorts program.”
The Westchester International Children’s Film Festival will conclude on Tuesday, September 11th with a ‘Taste of Education,” a day-long program at the theater featuring one-hour workshops of some of the Picture House’s most popular education classes. These classes will be free and open to the public, but are subject to availability and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets to the Westchester International Children’s Film Festival are $12/general admission, $6/members, $10/students and seniors for individual screenings. A Family Pass (good for a family of four) to all the screenings is available for $125/ $115 for members. Additional family members can be added for $10/each.
