Foto Feature: Chalking surprise welcome at PMHS entrances

Just before sunset on Sunday, a small group of Pelham middle and high school students gathered to decorate the walkways leading up to both the front and back entrances of Pelham Memorial High School as a Monday morning surprise for seniors returning full-time for the first time since March 2020, when the Covid-19 lockdown began.

Since last March, students have been attending school at first virtually from home, and later, split into two cohorts, with each cohort attending school from home half the week and in person the other half. On Monday, the seniors in both cohorts were together in school full-time. Seniors, who will be graduating in less than two months, have said they are especially excited to return. Freshman, sophomores and juniors came back Monday on a “more robust” cohort schedule, as Pelham continues to work towards a level of normalcy post-pandemic.
