Candida Pesco – July 16

Candida “Candy” Pesco of New Rochelle, NY passed away on July 16, 2021. She was 81 years old. Born in Bronx, NY to Walter and Verttie Di Diego, Candy was the eldest of four children. She was raised in the Bronx where she attended Evander Childs H.S.

After graduation Candy would work in the NYC financial district and Lillian Vernon. It was during those years met her husband, Vincent Pesco. Candy and Vinny married in the Bronx in 1961, and were blessed with two wonderful children: Joseph and Nicholas. In 1973, they moved their family from Fenton Avenue to Pelham. Candy then began work as an executive assistant for Cablevision Company.

Candy loved to crochet, travel on cruise ships to different places with friends, and most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Candy was a kind woman who was independent and enjoyed spending time at the New Rochelle Senior Center.

Candy will be remembered as a caring, loving, attentive caregiver, she was very family oriented. She was always happy and loved to laugh and smile. She loved being home with her family and hosting/attending family parties.

Candy is survived by her son, Joseph, and her six beloved grandchildren, Nick (Christina), Jennifer, Brianna, Brandon, Madison, Justin, and one great grandchild, Nicolina. Candy will be missed by everyone who knew her. Candy is predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Vinny; her son, Nicholas, and her two sisters, Tina and Jean.

A Celebration of Candy’s Life will be held at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York on Tuesday, July 27th from 4:00-8:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help located at 559 Pelham Manor Rd, Pelham, NY on Wednesday, July 28st at 10:00 am.
