Foto Feature: Tunes return to stoops, porches and driveways during WinterFest
WinterFest came back to Pelham Saturday for another successful evening of music, lights and treats for all the community to enjoy.
The event took place at numerous houses, just like last year, but the Gazebo was added as a central spot in town where bands performed and refreshments were available. Bands and performers played in shifts in order to keep people warm and so they didn’t have to be out in the freezing cold from the start to the end of the event.
“Performing this year was super fun,” said Sade Jacobs. “It was great to see all the people who really cared about music regardless of how cold it was.”
Although the weather was bitter, community members traveled all over town to watch artists and view the holiday light displays during the event produced by Pelham Together and the Pelham Chamber of Commerce. The theme of this year’s WinterFest was “Together Apart,” signifying it was a time for residents to spend time with one another.
Especially in the winter months of the pandemic, there can be a sense of loneliness. It becomes hard to connect with friends and community members while staying safe during Covid-19.
“My hope for WinterFest was that it brought people joy and a sense of hope,” said Pelham Together Executive Director Laura Caruso. “When we come together, we are reminded that we are not alone, that we can get through hard situations together.”
