School board meeting: Review of academic data, one-hour executive session

The Board of Education will meet at 6:30pm on Wednesday, January 19 in the Chorus Room of Pelham Middle School (Room 054) located at 28 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803. It is anticipated that the Board will immediately consider a motion to enter executive session to discuss items related to collective negotiations. The Board is expected to reconvene in public at approximately 7:30pm and continue the regular business meeting in the Middle School Library. The meeting can be viewed on YouTube live.
Please note that due to public health and safety concerns, the public will not be permitted to attend this meeting in person. Anyone wishing to make public comment may do so by sending an email to Board of Education President Jessica DeDomenico by 8pm on Wednesday. To the extent possible, please keep comments brief as they will be read into the record.
At the meeting, the Board will hear a report on academic data from Dr. Steven Garcia, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction & Personnel and members of the administrative team.
In addition to Dr. Lauro’s Superintendent’s report, the agenda may include updates from each School Board committee, Finances and Facilities, and the three goal areas of the Strategic Plan: Cultural Competence, Authentic Learning, and the Whole Child.
The Board may also review and/or adopt the following policies: Policy #7554 Dignity for all Students Act (DASA), Payroll Policy, Policy #7550 Complaints and Grievances by Students and Policy #3422 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. These policies will be available for review on BoardDocs as part of the meeting agenda.
