Courtesy of John Bertsch, the above picture shows the Pelham Booster Club’s new hot dog van on Aug 7, 1987, the day after it was delivered to Glover Field.

Bertsch said, “The high school kids nicknamed the hot dog van, the ‘Weenie Wagon.’ This wagon was stolen sometime in the early 90s from Glover Field. The perpetrators drove straight through the fence on Glover, hooked up the wagon and drove off. Insurance paid for a new one, with some additional sponsors. Above the door of the new (present) wagon you’ll find WWII painted, which means ‘Weenie Wagon #2,'” not World War II.

In the picture from left, Joe Delli Carpini, president of sponsor the Pelham Civic Association; Mickey Spillett, Pelham Memorial High School athletic director; Joe Solimine, the Rosol Agency (sponsor); Pelham Town Supervisor Paul Daronco, State Sen.
