‘Kiss the Ground’ screens free at Picture House Thursday (Earth Day eve)

Editor’s note: This press release was provided by the Rotary Club of the Pelhams. The Pelham Examiner publishes press releases in the form received as a service to the community.

Pelham middle school/high students, adults and families are invited to a free screening of “Kiss the Ground,” a movie about regenerating the world’s soil to stabilize Earth’s climate, at 6 pm this Thursday, April 21 at The Picture House. Screening of the movie is scheduled for the eve of Earth Day.

The event is sponsored by Rotary Club of the Pelhams, which is celebrating its 75th Anniversary Year, and EcoPel, the Environmental Coalition of the Pelhams.

Narrated by actor Woody Harrelson, “Kiss the Ground” uses graphics and visuals, along with NASA and NOAA footage to illustrate how, by drawing down atmospheric carbon, soil is the missing piece of the climate puzzle.

Rotary clubs across the world have worked to improve the environment. Thursday night’s program will include a brief video on what Rotary clubs in Amsterdam are doing to end plastic pollution. Before the movie there will also be a presentation by Pelham Eliminates Plastics, a student club.
