Editor’s note: This press release was provided by the Village of Pelham Manor. The Pelham Examiner publishes press releases in the form received as a service to the community.

The Village has been steadily working on improvements for the Four Corners area. This week, Village DPW crews will be planting a variety of native species plants around the Four Corners Police Booth. We are excited to brighten up this special spot in the Village. The landscaping plan, curated with the assistance of The Garden Room NY, features a foundation of greenery with supporting plants and shrubs on an alternating blooming cycle. As previously mentioned, we also continue to collaborate with Friedland Properties. There will be a Planning Board meeting in the coming weeks to finalize the plan forward for site improvements.

The Village’s work on our municipally owned brick median will likely commence in early June and take approximately one week to complete. We have been coordinating with ConEdison on this implementation as well to make sure the Village’s project is complete prior to ConEdison’s final restoration of Pelhamdale Avenue.  The Village Manager has spoken with ConEdison’s paving contractor and they are confirmed to pave Pelhamdale Avenue, from Boston Post Road to Grant Avenue, and the respective surrounding streets, as soon as possible in June.

The utility work further south on Pelhamdale Avenue is a necessary step for the coordination of infrastructure upgrades. As part of the ongoing discussion regarding drainage infrastructure, the Village is proud to take a wholistic approach to planning. A large part of the design phase for our stormwater improvement projects involves coordinating with the utility companies. Conducting projects in tandem provides for a more comprehensive end result. A street opening permit has been issued for Pelhamdale Avenue, Mt. Tom Road, Rockledge Drive, and Hillcrest Drive. If residents have any questions on this utility work, they are encouraged to reach out to Village Manger Lindsey Luft at 914-738-8820.

We appreciated everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through these infrastructure upgrades.

The entire length of Shore Road for the Village of Pelham Manor will be paved this week, weather permitting. Throughout this project, the Village has worked with our counterparts in the Westchester County Department of Public Works to secure two additional crosswalks on the roadway. There will now be a crosswalk from Shoreview Circle to Shore Park, and another will be painted across the entrance of the New York Athletic Club.

The Village is finalizing our plans for the streets which we will be paving for the 2024 season. We will provide a subsequent communication when we have finalized the schedule of work.
