Former Pelham Schools Superintendent Dr. Charles T. Wilson.

Dear Pelham Community,

It is with great sadness that I share the passing of former Pelham Schools Superintendent Dr. Charles T. Wilson. Dr. Wilson began his career in Pelham as a Social Studies Teacher in 1968. He subsequently served in a variety of capacities, including Guidance Counselor, Director of Guidance Services, Director of Pupil Personnel Services, Director of Instruction & Personnel, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction & Personnel, and ultimately Superintendent, a post he held from 1996 until his retirement in 2008. In 2013, he returned to serve briefly as interim superintendent.

Dr. Wilson cared deeply about the Pelham Public Schools and was committed to providing the best possible experience for our students. He leaves behind an incredible legacy and played a huge role in building our District into what it is today. A piece of that legacy is on display in our high school each year – the annual PMHS Olympics – which was the brainchild of Dr. Wilson in his pursuit to foster school spirit and bring the student body together.

I am forever grateful to Dr. Wilson for welcoming me into Pelham and for his career of contributions to the Pelham Public Schools. Please join me in expressing condolences to the entire Wilson family.

Sincerely,
Cheryl H. Champ, Ed. D.
