Pelham Market returns Sunday to Fifth and Harmon for weekly run through Thanksgiving

May 2022 – Pelham, NY – The Pelham Market returns THIS Sunday, May 29, with over 20 vendors converging at 5th & Harmon Aves. ready to make your Memorial Day grilling both delicious – and local.

Pelham residents Jane Sweeney and Amy Cole started the market in the spring of 2020 and after two successful seasons tapped Morning Glory Markets (which operates the Hastings, Irvington, Bronxville, Chappaqua and NYBG markets) to take the market to the next level.

Who will be on the market plaza? You will find many of your favorites from last year like Pickleliscious, Second Mouse Cheese, Freshly Made Juices and Wave Hill Breads, and of course, the Pizza Vitale food truck with Francesco, our favorite pizzaiolo slinging market pies inside.

We are very excited to bring you Deep Roots Farm, a NOFA-certified organic farm based in Copake, NY.  Not only do they grow the tastiest tomatoes around, but their crop list is expansive and they pickle many of the vegetables they grow. They also sell cut field flowers, too. (Worry not, Blooms of Bliss will be returning on June 11.)  They will be bringing lots of seedlings this Sunday so set aside some time for gardening this weekend.

Have seasonal allergies? Pick up some honey from Boogie Bronx Honey, as local as it gets. Also joining us, Fino Farms from Milton, NY, a conventional orchard and farm. They will be bringing some produce as well as berries, stone fruit, melons, and lots and lots of pears and apples come fall. And fresh-pressed cider, of course.

Most important for this grilling weekend, we bring you R & M Farms. Farmer Ryan Ostertag raises cows, pigs, sheep, turkeys and chickens on his sprawling farm in Wantage, N.J. There’s a reason why he is at every single Morning Glory market…his pastured meats are that good. Ditto for his eggs. Grab some ribeyes or ground beef for the holiday. Or get some fresh fish from the Dobbs Ferry Lobster Co., also returning, on a more regular basis this season.

For quick and easy weeknight dinners, pick up some artisanal pasta, and small batch sauces and compound butters to accompany them, from Brooklyn-based La Trafila Pasta.

The market will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday from now through Thanksgiving. Bring a picnic blanket and kick back in the park while you enjoy the market music in the Gazebo, curated once again, by Warren Banholzer.

Don’t worry if you forget your blanket. We have plenty to spare at the market tent. Just ask! The always affable Sid Motwani will be managing the market once again this year. We are so looking forward to being part of your Sunday routine.

We’d like to thank our sponsors Meridian Risk Management/Meridian Real Estate, Jennifer Meyer/ Compass Real Estate and Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty for their generous support of our market!
