Six Pelham businesses have won Westchester Magazine’s Best of Westchester honors for 2022, including Sergio’s, Tig & Peach, the Picture House Regional Film Center, Edo Japanese Steakhouse, DeCicco & Sons and Anna & Jack’s Treehouse.

Sergio’s is an Italian restaurant located at 503 Fifth Ave. and has been in operation since December of 2014. According to restaurant co-owner Alban Gashi, Sergio’s won Best of Westchester for the hard work and the little things the staff does. “I feel like we actually won this award with our attention to detail—it’s just the smallest things like remembering people’s names and their drink orders,” said Gashi. “We really have a team of professionals that love what they do. They love engaging with the customer.” Along with Best of Westchester, Sergio’s was voted one of the top 100 restaurants in America by OpenTable.

Tig & Peach is a play space and enrichment center for infants to six-year-olds located at 125 Wolfs Lane. It first opened on Sept. 9, 2019. Since its inception, it has won Best of Westchester for 2020, 2021 and now 2022.

“There are so many young children and families that live in Pelham, and we wanted to serve our community and provide something that we didn’t have,” said co-founder Amanda Tigges Star. “We love the community and the people. That’s probably our favorite part of our businesses: the people, big ones and small ones.”

Edo Japanese Steakhouse has been operating in Pelham for 35 years on Boston Post Road. Owner Yuka Higuchi is very grateful for the recognition the restaurant receives from customers. “The restaurant has been around for a while,” said Higuchi. “It’s always nice. I go in and sit next to people, and they’ll tell me about how they have come here for 20 years, so it really just feels like a family in there.”

DeCicco & Sons won in three categories: Italian bakery, retail store beer selection and caterer. DeCicco has nine locations in Westchester County, including its Pelham store.

“Everything we accomplish is thanks to our hard working team and the incredible communities that we serve,” said Maria Luisa DeCicco, director of human resources. “At DeCicco & Sons, we pride ourselves on quality first, so to be given these titles is an incredible honor. Over the years, we have been able to build so many relationships and play a small role in our customers’ occasions, and there is no better feeling. We are all passionate about what we do and constantly working to make our offerings and experiences the best they can be.”

2022 is the third year Anna & Jack’s Treehouse—a daycare center that has been in Pelham since August of 2021—has been recognized with a Best of Westchester award. It has 300 students and 120 employees through all of its locations, including New Rochelle, Norwalk and Pelham.

“We are really thankful for all our staff, our teachers and our parents for all of their support,” said Rob Rubicco, founder of the company. “It’s been truly amazing, and we’re always always looking for new ways to improve and to extend our offering and make more, whether that’s through enrichment classes like yoga, Spanish, music and French. Whatever it is, we are always looking to increase that. It’s just amazing when something like this happens. We will celebrate with our team and continue to give back to our community.”
