PMHS girls basketball wins big in senior night game
Following a rough loss to Harrison earlier in the week, PMHS girls basketball beat out Eastchester for the second time this season on senior night. The girls won in leisurely fashion Thursday, with a final score of 47-28. The team will advance with a 15-2 record, and a league record of 3-1.
The Pelicans controlled the game from start to finish, led by an overwhelming and high-motor offense. Eastchester had difficulty finding the bottom of the basket. The girls dominated the glass, refusing any extra point opportunities for the Eagles. Pelham led by 22 points, allowing for a total team effort featuring at least one basket made by every senior.
Senior Katie Prisco led the girls with 12 points, followed by sophomore Taylor Green with nine. Junior Mia Orlando tallied eight, and senior Allie Prisco had seven. Senior Ellie Soderberg scored four points, and senior Grace Dunhill added three. Seniors Riley Teller and Bailey Katz both finished with two.
After a successful senior night, the girls look onto Mahopac on Feb. 4 at home at 1 pm.
