Pelham boys basketball defeats Eastchester in thrilling away game

The PMHS boys basketball team took home an important win against Eastchester Thursday. With this victory, the Pelicans moved to an overall record of 9-8, placing them in a prime position to gain momentum as the post-season looms.

The boys defeated Eastchester 52-43, putting together an impressive overall performance to secure a comeback win. The Eagles rallied to make it a close first half, but the Pelicans were able to gain a 14-point lead going into the fourth quarter. The game was closed out by crucial plays from senior Luke Ravitz and junior Jarid Plummer.

Plummer, in his first game returned from injury, dropped an astounding 16 points, combining with junior Lebron Richardson for a total of 20 rebounds. Senior Luke Ravitz put up 15 points.

“We knew we could definitely beat them after the loss at home,” said Richardson. “We made sure we were ready to battle it out the whole game and tough out the win.”

Pelham lost to Eastchester earlier in the season at home on Jan. 17, making this victory all the more important. The Pelicans look to close out their season with wins against Rye and Harrison.
