Garcia for school board: ‘Unwavering commitment’ to schools and children
To the editor:
I am thrilled to endorse Annemarie Garcia for the board of education. As a long-time resident of Pelham and a dedicated parent, Annemarie has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our schools and our children.
Eight years ago, I had the privilege of serving as co-president of the Hutchinson PTA with Annemarie, who managed the position with grace and efficiency. People responded to her—she saw issues from all sides, asked good questions and worked hard to make sure people felt heard. I also spent time with Annemarie on the Pelham Education Foundation, where she never hesitated to pitch in and be a person who helped solve problems.
I can think of no one with more relevant and valuable experience with Pelham’s schools. Annemarie has an impressive track record of involvement, including her tenure as Hutchinson PTA president, chair of PTA committees and member of various board of education committees. As current president of the PTA Council, she is a levelheaded and unflappable leader.
Her experience as a representative of the Hutchinson Elementary School district also makes her an ideal candidate at a time when that district has no representation on the board. She has a thorough understanding of the needs and concerns of our community. Her personal experience as a parent in our school system has given her valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities facing our schools.
Annemarie Garcia is an outstanding candidate. She has the experience, dedication and vision necessary to help guide our schools toward a bright future. I urge you to vote for her on Tuesday.
