Jills Closet looks to provide personal shopping experiences through ‘Sip and Shop’

Jill’s Closet has been hosting a “Sip and Shop” of refreshments for a couple of hours to introduce the business as the weather transitions this summer.

Jillian Scarlett, the owner, plans to host more similar events during the summer and was excited to see the event’s turnout. Jill also plans to offer more personality with purchases through gift wrapping which is available with advanced notice.

Jill’s Closet first opened on Fifth Avenue back in December 2021. The boutique caters to men, women and children. Scarlett proudly sells brand-new designer apparel and luxury clothing at a discounted rate, so one can find anything from The Gap to Gucci for a price that will not break the bank.

“This business is an interpretation of my passion for fashion and I am proud to be able to introduce designers and items that others might necessarily shy away from because of price or not being able to have it accessible to them,” Scarlett said. “A lot of the brands that I carry you will only get if you go further into Westchester like the Westchester Mall or into Manhattan. So I just wanted to bring that closer to everyone and in their price reach.”

Since opening, Scarlett has been quite content with her choice to run a rare apparel establishment in Pelham.

“It’s a quaint town,” said Scarlett. “It’s within close proximity to my home and I also have a nine-to-five so it works out and I don’t really have to go out of my way when traveling. But it’s also accessible and on the border of the city and lower Westchester.”

The business has been a success and Scarlett aspires to grow an online presence through Instagram and their webpage.

“I have been doing this for a really long time,” Scarlett said. “And I decided to have it housed in a brick-and-mortar building. I’ve been buying and selling in the retail industry for over 20 years since the late 90s. So I just wanted my idea and all this time to manifest and I think it did.”
