The PMHS boys lacrosse team saw a tough end to their season Monday in an unexpected 7-5 quarterfinal loss to lower-seeded Hendrick Hudson.

Pelham went down early in the Section 1 Class C matchup, as the Sailors took a 5-2 lead in the first half.

The Pelicans looked themselves in the third quarter. A stellar goal from senior Chris Franchini and two quick shots from junior Eddy Maher cut the deficit to two.

Despite the Pelham comeback, the Sailors extended their lead in the fourth quarter for the final 7-5 result.

Junior Charlie Zabatta had a stunning performance in net, recording nine saves that nearly rescued the Pelican’s season.

Pelham has much to look forward to next year. With plenty of key players continuing to improve and a strong core full of talent and experience, next season is surely one to watch out for.
