PMHS senior Sean Condon, headed to West Point in fall, wins 2023 Rotary Scholarship

Pelham Memorial High School graduating senior Sean Condon was honored as the winner of the 2023 Rotary Scholarship totaling $15,000 at the Rotary luncheon on June 7. He was presented with a check for $3,750, the first of four annual installments of the award.

Sean will be attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. An Eagle Scout, he achieved academic honors in science and was a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Math, English, Science, Social Studies and Latin honor societies. He was an AP Scholar with Distinction and attended the American Legion Boys State program. His volunteer activities have included soup kitchens, letters to veterans and the ALS Awareness program. He has participated in basketball as well as varsity football and varsity lacrosse. His other activities have included student government and the Military History Club. He was the New Rochelle YMCA Civic Honoree in 2022. His music instrument of choice and accomplishment is bagpipes.

Pelham Rotary members fund the $15,000 annual scholarship with the help of donations from community members. A postcard requesting donations from the community was recently mailed to all households and businesses in the Pelhams.
