Editor’s note: This press release was provided by the Village of Pelham. The Pelham Examiner publishes press releases in the form received as a service to the community.

We are proud to announce that the Village of Pelham Council on the Arts is the recipient of a $3000 Arts Westchester grant in support of our 3rd Annual Juneteenth celebration in the Village of Pelham. We want to thank the Pelham Art Center for acting as a fiscal sponsor, which allows the Arts Council to receive and distribute these funds. And thank you especially to Jeff Watkins, head of the Juneteenth committee, and Emlyn Taveras, council member, for their tireless devotion to creating a truly inspirational event.

Please join us on Saturday, June 17th in Wolfs Lane Park near the fountain at 3 pm as we kick off this year’s celebration. Also, take advantage of the free screening of the award-winning Summer of Soul at The Picture House Pelham at 1 pm, preceding the outdoor events. This is a family-friendly event that is free and open to everyone! Please see the attached flyer for a list of programming that will take place throughout Wolfs Lane Park during the day. We hope to see you there!
