Frances Nesi Bermudez – Aug. 5

Frances Nesi Bermudez, age 86, died on August 5, 2023 at Calvary Hospital in The Bronx, New York.

Frances and her twin sister Mary were born on October 16, 1936, in The Bronx to John and Rose Petraglia Nesi.  She married Julio “Vic” Bermudez

In 1978, she was predeceased by her parents, her husband, brother Nicholas Nesi, stepson Robert Bermudez, and nephew John Merola.

Loving sister of Mary (John) Merola and Dr. Frank (Karen) Nesi, devoted stepmother of John (Lynn), Frank (Jackie), Richard Bermudez, and proud aunt of John (Kathleen) Nesi, Rosanna Nesi, Natalie Nesi, Thomas (Joanne Cerbino) Nesi, Christopher Nesi, Joshua Nesi, and Dr. Francesca Nesi (John) Eloff. Further survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews, step grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

Frances graduated from Pelham Memorial High School and earned an associate degree in business technology from Westchester Community College in 1956. She was an accountant for 20 years before becoming a supervisor at C-E Lummus Combustion Engineering, Inc. in Bloomfield, New Jersey and then opening her own travel agency, Travelworks, in New York City.  She later became a travel consultant at ProTravel International in New York City.

Frances will be fondly remembered for her love of family and friends and will be missed by all who loved her. She loved life, traveled extensively throughout the world, and she loved her family above all else.  She always made sure family came first and always enjoyed time surrounded by family and friends entertaining and sharing her love for them all.

The love and memory she leaves behind will remain forever and she will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Frances’s life will be celebrated at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Friday, August 11th , from 2-7 pm.
