Editor’s note: This statement was provided by Edgewater Park Owners Cooperative board of directors. The Pelham Examiner publishes statements in the form received as a service to the community.
My name is Deborah Roff and I am the President of the Edgewater Park Board of Directors for the past seven years. I have had the pleasure of knowing Maura Curtin for approximately four years and have always found Maura to be trustworthy, hardworking and intelligent. Maura is the type of person you can count on to keep a cool head in a stressful situation, she has displayed an immense amount of self-discipline, dedication and positivity. She is always willing to go above and beyond to help those in need, and her positive attitude is an attribute that has an uplifting effect on everyone around her.
After superstorm Sandy, Edgewater Park was awarded a grant from the city to renovate our Volunteer Fire Department Building in order to create a relief center for Edgewater Park residents and the surrounding communities for use during emergencies. Previous to December 2021, it appeared that we were going to lose the funding (which was set to expire in February 2022) due to compounded delays/issues and Covid 19. We never gave up on the fight to get the full grant money that was allocated to us for this project and have been working closely with our elected officials. A major breakthrough occurred in December 2021 when our pleas to our various elected officials finally paid off. One of the people that made a major difference in this fight was Maura and her invaluable network of connections. She managed to unravel all the bureaucracies and went above and beyond putting together countless meetings for us to aid in our fight to get this done. She displayed great communication skills and through her hard work and dedication we were able to have the grant extended and now the residents of Edgewater Park and the surrounding neighborhoods will have a relief center. Without Maura’s help, support and understanding this project may not have come to fruition and we will always be grateful to her for her determination to see this project through.
The reasons listed above barely scratch the surface of what an exceptional asset to your Town Council I truly believe Maura Curtin would be. Anyone that is lucky to have her in their corner, knows her value.
Please let me know if there is anything further that you might need.
Very Truly Yours,
For the EPOC Board of Directors
Deborah Roff, President

Dedication and tireless commitment to Pelham are some of the reasons why I’m voting for Maura. Her connections and the size of her network are of huge value to the Town and a testament to her as a person.
