Julia Cominsky – Nov. 9

Julia Cominsky, 89, of Pelham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Cominsky. She worked for 49 years as a beloved Secretary at Cardinal Spellman High School.

Julia’s life was dedicated to her family. Her children were the joy of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. The arrival of her adoring grandchildren only added to the happiness that filled Julia’s heart and her great-grandchildren were blessed to have known their remarkable great-grandmother.

To say Julia loved to cook and bake is an understatement. With a collection of recipes that she created and mastered, she was proud to serve her family and friends with her culinary creations, especially her renowned cheesecake and Sunday morning waffles. She cherished her Italian heritage, and it was represented in her cooking and her holiday traditions. She also had the gift of being able to prepare a full course meal for unexpected company on short notice.

Julia loved working at Cardinal Spellman High School. Her dedication to the students and the support and guidance she provided were unmatched. She especially enjoyed the school’s trip to Europe visiting Italy and Greece, where the culture further enriched her passion for cooking and baking.
