SOOP Theatre Company presents ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’
Pelham, NY – October 1, 2018 — SOOP Theatre Company proudly brings the Tony Award-winning musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, to audiences of all ages for a one-weekend only event, October 26-28. SOOP’s STAR Mainstage Production features talented high school performers, in a high-energy, fun-filled production that will keep your toes tapping.
Based on the 1967 film of the same name, Thoroughly Modern Millie is the story of small-town girl, Millie Dillmount, who comes to New York City to marry for money instead of love – a thoroughly modern aim in 1922, when women were just entering the workforce. Millie soon begins to take delight in the flapper lifestyle, but it doesn’t take long, however, for Millie’s “thoroughly modern” plan to go awry. Winner of the 2002 Tony Award for Best Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie is a bright, funny, and charming musical comedy — a heartfelt valentine to New York City and the people who love her.
Thoroughly Modern Millie will be performed at the Manor Club in Pelham Manor, NY and runs for four performances only: October 26 at 8PM, October 27 at 2PM & 8PM and October 28 at 2PM. For tickets, visit www.smarttix.com or www.sooptheatre.org.
