Pelham Picture House’s Film Club begins winter season on Wednesday

January 2024 – Pelham, NYThe Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) has announced that its highly-popular Film Club will kick off its winter season on Wednesday, February 7th at the Pelham theater.  TPH’s Film Club offers movie-lovers the opportunity to see upcoming films in advance of their release date. Each season includes six films, which are followed by a discussion with the critic-in-residence Stephen Witty and special guest speakers from the industry. Winter 2024 dates are February 7, 14, 28, March 6, 13 and 20. Subscriptions to Film Club are open to members of The Picture House.

“The TPH Film Club stands as a cornerstone of our organization’s commitment to foster a communal experience through the medium of film,” said Clayton Bushong, Executive Director, The Picture House Regional Film Center. “This new season features an exciting line up of thought-provoking films and guests, which provide a great backdrop for movie enthusiasts to delve into the cinematic experience from various perspectives.”

TPH is excited to welcome Stephen Witty back for a new season as Film Club Host.  Whitty was a critic at The Star-Ledger for nearly two decades. He has also written for Entertainment Weekly, The New York Daily News, Cosmopolitan, Stanford Magazine, and The Minetta Review, among many others. He has profiled some of cinema’s most influential figures including Steven Spielberg, Peter O’Toole, and Judi Dench. Whitty is also the writer of the book The Alfred Hitchcock Encyclopedia.
