Pat’s Hair Salon is celebrating its 25th anniversary since opening on Jan. 13. 1999. Today, regular clientele flock daily to get their hair styled.

Since her youth, owner Pat O’Malley had dreamed of opening a hair salon. “I always wanted to have my own place, and there used to be an oil company here, and they closed the business, and I redid the whole thing,” she said.

Taking on remodeling the old oil shop at 123 Wolfs Lane into a chic and alluring salon was no easy task. Totally refurbishing and restoring the entire place took some time, but O’Malley was determined to open her place.

After the business started, a personal tragedy occurred. Despite this devastation, O’Malley recovered and built herself back up.

“I didn’t let nothing stop me,” O’Malley said.

With her and her business back on their feet, community support remained strong.
