After effort led by students, Anti-Defamation League names PMHS as Gold Star No Place for Hate School

Editor’s note: This press release was provided by the Pelham Union Free School District. The Pelham Examiner publishes press releases in the form received as a service to the community.

We are thrilled to share that Pelham Memorial High School has been designated a Gold Star No Place for Hate School for the 2023-24 school year by the Anti-Defamation League. No Place for Hate is a student-led approach to improving school climate. To achieve this designation, the high school’s No Place for Hate Club, advised by school social worker Lila Zahed, led a number of school-wide initiatives such as Unity Day, P.S. I Love You Day and a pledge signing day in which students were encouraged to sign a pledge to promote anti-bias and anti-bullying within the school.

Congratulations to PMHS, which now joins Pelham Middle School as our second No Place for Hate School in the District!
