At its May 9, 2024 meeting, the Pelham PTA Council (PTAC) and PTA Units representing Colonial Elementary School, Hutchinson Elementary School, Prospect Hill Elementary School, Siwanoy Elementary School, Pelham Middle School, Pelham Memorial High School, and SEPTA voted unanimously to support the proposed 2024-25 School Budget.

The proposed budget represents an appropriation of $93,580,000 (reflecting a budget-to-budget increase of $2,620,000) and is tax cap compliant (2.68% tax levy increase). It will sustain rich educational program offerings and provide support for Special Education based on student need. It will also allow the District to expand Integrated Co-Teach at the elementary level, continue the refresh of learning technology and expand flexible classroom furniture for innovative teaching and learning, and maintain class size with BOE guidelines. To learn more, please visit the District’s 2024-25 School Budget webpage.

All PTA Units and PTAC also encourage registered voters to cast their ballots on Tuesday, May 21st for the School Budget, and two (2) open seats on the Pelham Board of Education. The polls will be open at the Middle School Gym from 7am to 9pm. The candidates (in alphabetical order) are:

  • Kathryn Cohen
  • Darra Gordon
  • Michael Owen-Michaane
  • Ian Rowe

Learn more about the candidates at the BOE Candidate Forum, which takes place on Tuesday, May 14th at 7pm in Pelham Memorial High School’s Alumni Hall. This in-person event will be moderated by the Westchester League of Women Voters. The forum will also be live streamed via the District’s YouTube channel and recorded for after event viewing.

The Pelham PTA Council is committed to unifying and strengthening local PTAs by facilitating partnerships and collaborations that enhance the educational and co-curricular experiences of children and their families in our District, as well as promoting the interests of the National PTA and New York State PTA.
