Plaster Palace Pottery, a popular location for craft parties in Larchmont owned by Pelham mom Emilia Grabowski, is celebrating 11 years in business.
Available for birthday parties and walk-ins, Plaster Palace Pottery has created a balance between a calm and entertaining environment where customers can pick from a range of plaster or ceramic pottery to decorate.
Grabowski bought Plaster Palace at 2005 Palmer Avenue in 2013. Her experience running the business has impacted her life and shaped her as a person.
“It was scary at the beginning to open a business, but this adventure has brought me joy and a little more confidence in my life if I put in effort,” she said. “I made sacrifices and missed a lot of family events, but I was able to incorporate my family into the business, and they began to feel the same excitement for the business.”
Plaster Palace typically hosts four to five birthday parties per weekend, with Pelham families making up about half of the parties.
Despite the current stability, the business has faced its share of struggles over the years.
“It hasn’t always been easy, in fact. Covid times put a huge pressure on the business, and it was not clear if it would even survive,” Grabowski said. “The support and the encouragement we have been receiving from the community has been extremely rewarding and motivating to keep improving our offerings.”
Grawboski has big plans for the future of her shop, including expand customer activity options with the Pelham community supporting Plaster Palace’s growth.
“We just launched bath bomb birthday parties, and I cannot wait to see what the future is still holding for us,” Grabowski said.
