Krystal Howell was sworn in as a new member of the Village of Pelham Board of Trustees on Tuesday evening after running unopposed in November for the seat vacated by Kim McGreal.
Incumbent Trustees Hanan Eldahry and Russell Solomon—both were reelected last month, also without opposition—were sworn in for their fourth and third terms, respectively.
They are all Democrats, as are the other three board members and the mayor.
This was the last swearing-in ceremony to be held at the Village Hall on Sparks Avenue, as the board will be moving into the new Municipal Center in the new year.
While recapping the year, Mayor Chance Mullen highlighted the board’s work on flood mitigation, the $250,ooo Downtown Improvement Grant received last June and the more than $300,000 in Clean Energy Grants helping to create a sustainable community.
“Our budget is in the best shape it has ever been,” said Mullen.
