Pelham Troop 1 Boy Scouts spend Veterans Day weekend in Washington, D.C.

We tent camped at Greenbelt National Park for two nights (Nov 9-11), where temperatures dropped to 26* early Sunday morning.

On Saturday we visited the National Mall including The White House, Boy Scout Memorial Statue, Washington Monument, WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and the Vietnam Memorial. The Troop also toured the US Capital Building, thanks to Sen. Schumer.

We broke camp early Sunday morning to spend two hours visiting the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum’s annex at Dulles Airport (Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center) where Scouts saw the Space Shuttle Discovery, SR-71 Blackbird, and an Air France Concorde.
